David Bell is a director, animator, and visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY.  His work often involves drawing, sculpture, miniatures, stop-motion animation, and puppets.

David frequently collaborates with Joe Scarpulla on photography and animation work. They started Big Object in 2015 as a venue for their commercial animation work. At Big Object, they have directed and animated commercials for Lowes, Comcast, PNC Bank, Prudential, and more. They are the recipients of the Grand Jury Prize at the SXSW Film Festival for their work with director Jay Bulger on the documentary Beware of Mr Baker. Their photography work has been exhibited internationally and they are currently in the final phases of production on a 20 minute stop-motion animated film called The Sacred Engine. David is a graduate of Parsons: The New School for Design, and teaches stop-motion animation at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, and Illustration at Parsons.
